Web Design Project Description: We require a redesign and development of a new website to replace the existing site at _________. The new site is likely to comprise of approximately 65 - 70 pages with flexibility to add additional requirements and manage the site internally with minimal knowledge. We would seek a design methodology from prospective providers outlining your products and services built around a `best-practice` design and development strategy. Prospective suppliers will also be required to demonstrate successful design and development case studies with existing clients on similar projects and outcomes. The following are some of the potential design area`s we would seek in reviewing your proposed methodology to ensure suitability for the project. Of course, we`re not website design or development specialists so we`re open to discussion around these areas and these are not an exhaustive list of requirements but merely a suggested minimum guideline for review and discussion: Design Requirements (at a minimum and open to discussion): 1. Fast loading 2. Accessibility - to all users regardless of browser type, platform, operating system, etc. without requiring the download of plug-in`s etc. 3. Work with typical desktop and laptop devices as well as iPhone/Smartphone/iPad and other mobility devices 4. Design focussed on usability 5. Design based on ease of navigation throughout the entire site, including individual pages 6. Clean, professiona appearance 7. Clean and logical hierarchical structure (both site and pages) 8. Design focussed around simplicity 9. Consistency across all pages, entire site and consistent with typical website design and layout familiarity and ease of use for website visitors 10. MUST be search engine optimised 11. Inclusion of a sitemap 12. MUST include search functionality 13. MUST provide custom error pages 14. Avoid frames (open to discussion). Please note, each of the above provide a minimum design and development guideline for review of potential providers but once again, these are open to discussion.
