Web Design Project Description: Objectives Our vision to (re)build the new ________ website suggest the following criteria as guidelines for our Web design: Website must appeal to business developers and corporate officers and other individuals or entities related to Corporate Boards, Its management and Investors The site must have a general public area as well as a registered members area. The site must be simple and clean but Glossy and Lifestyle like with a global appeal. Foremost Important we want to have the ability to maintain the site our self, as much as possible The site should be cost effective. Additional we would like to have registration information transferable to Lotus notes. If possible, we would like to have a referral notification system implemented (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and others) Having stats for the website will be important Our Vision of the Work Involved Design of our website using a standard widely used content management system. This will allow us to avoid costly from scratch code development, and will also avoid the cost of licenses to operate the site. (If needed we have a full working but to unravel cms web application in PHP) The website should have the following components: General website open and accessible by all Registered member site-Users will be required to register and to log in to view / use the contents on this area (students and professionals) Back-end administration-This area of the site will only be accessible by our staff. In this area we would have to find all the tools available to maintain the dynamic components of the site. General Website The general website will provide information to all visitors in regards to the services the company provides. This area of the site will also highlight the company's experience, trajectory, testimonials, and important general information that may entice visitors to register and/or contact the company for more information related to engaging its services. This area of the website will have static and dynamic components as well as a contact form and the necessary screens for a user to register or log in as needed. Below is a list of the sections and subsections identified for this area of the site and a brief description of their functions. Home Page Or the main landing page, this is in a way the company's business card. In here users will find a brief "what is new" feature which will link users to a page with the full write up. The page will also contain An Editable news component. this component will have an image and the beginning of intro text that will link to the full article located in a subsection of the News page. this photo and text will be dynamic , in addition to the use of a still image or slide show. The home page will also have an area for a tag lin or corporate phrase message that will be editable (Dynamic) Services- The services section will have, more in depth information will be provided in the registered member area. When users click on the tab to access this area they will see a standard static general description of services. Additionally they will see links to the subsections that come from the home page. For example: ______ - This subsection will display the full article that was introduced on the home page and will also be accompanied by an image. We suggest a banner on this page that invites users to register for more information. Business development - This subsection will display the full article that was introduced on the home page and will also be accompanied by an image. Public Scenarios - This subsection will display the full article that was introduced on the home page and will also be accompanied by an image. We suggest a banner on this page that invites users to register for more information. Merger and Acquisitions -This subsection will display the full article that was introduced on the home page and will also be accompanied by an image. We suggest a banner on this page that invites users to register for more information. Network Partners-In this section, for the general public, there will be a general article / Write up regarding the companies and services that can be partnered with through a relationship with _________. We recommend that users actually register in order to obtain a referral or, at a minimum, contact the company through the Contact Us form. The text content on this page will be editable (Dynamic). A banner inviting users to register to gain additional information and benefits for free is recommended. This banner can also be changes via the back end. _________ readers store- This area will be available to all users and will continue to be served from Amazon and will be limited to the current functionality and display. About the company (About us)-This section of the site will provide a brief introduction to the company. This section will have the following sub sections accessible from here: Testimonials-This will be a listing of testimonials provided from past relationships in the form of quotes. This list will be editable from the back end. The list will show the latest entry on top or first. Keeping Investors informed- This will consist of an editorial article with a standard header image. Only the text will be editable through the back end. Event Calendar A Contact Us email form (inquiry) will be accessible (also accessible through the global footer). An email a Friend email form will also be available to all users from this section (and other sections as well). A printer friendly screen with the contact information for the company will be available from this section. This information will be editable (dynamic) via the back end. Registration / Log in-An invitation to register and the necessary boxes to log in will be provided on the home page. This invitation will be constructed as a banner ad to make it more attractive. In the other sections of the public site there will be a button version / treatment of the register now / Log-in feature. Clicking on this button will take the users to a page that will offer the alternative to log-in or begin the registration process. Users will have to provide the following information in order to register. This information will be kept in a database and will be exported as Vcard's so that they can be imported into Lotus notes. After this confirmation, the user account should be activated to be able to use all registered member features of the site. Global footer pages- The global footer pages will be available from all pages of the site they will include the following: Terms and conditions- This is a simple page with text. The text on this page can be updated via back-end (dynamic). Privacy policy - This is a simple page with text. The text on this page can be updated via back-end (dynamic). Help and FAQ - This is a simple page with text. The text on this page can be updated via back end (dynamic). Contact Us- This will be an email form for contacting the company. The form will include fields for Name, Email address, telephone number, Message area, and a drop down menu including headers that will help categorize the nature of the inquiry as well as a send button. After a contact form is submitted the user will see a message on screen thanking them for contacting the company and indicating their request has been sent. Registered Member Website area-This section and subsection of the site can only be accessed after a user has registered. When a user logs in he will land on the main page for registered users from which he will be able to access all the content available for registered members. It's important to note that this new page will also appear in the navigation bar as a new tab. The sections we have identified are the following: Extended Services-This subsection will include an extended article/write up on available services as well as links to the categorized subsections. This article can be updated via the back end; however the still image on the header is static. It will also include an editable list of PDF documents that can be printed and/or downloaded by the user. Forms- This section will display a categorized list of links to PDF formatted forms or documents that users can print or download. This list can be edited via the back end. Extended Network Partners- In this section users will be able to learn about the various professional partnerships and services that can be referred too from the site. Each entry will include the name of the company or partner, a brief summary or description of services and a link to an email form to contact the partner. If a user clicks on the contact form link, an email form will pop-up in a separate window. The users will then fill in the needed information and click on the Send button. This will cause the partner and client ________ to receive the same email with the request. This listing of partners can be updated via the back end. Article and Forms search-A search to find articles or forms by their name will be included. This means that all articles and forms (PDFs) must have a title name that is indexed so that it can be found. This feature will only work in the registered area of the site. The indexing will be updatable because when new forms are added or an article is added, a title will be entered. The search capability will be limited unless client will like to make further investment in a more complex search capability in the future. Global footers- The same global footers available in the general site will be available for registered members. It is important to note that this will not allow unregistered members access to the register area. Following Section is been written by Our past developer but made a mess out of it we still have that side and all needed elements but probably you have a better solution. Back-end Administrative module The back-end or administrative module will be accessed only by client's resources that have administrative access (user and password). The exact layout and characteristics will depend on the CMS that is chosen. From this panel, administrators will be able to edit /delete/add content or files as described above in the general and registered sections. From this our administrators could create additional passwords or user names for other resources to update the site. It is recommended that two profiles are created: Super administrator- can do everything including adding or deleting administrators Administrator- can make content changes to the site but can not add or delete administrative users. However he/she will be able to reset passwords or service a registered member account as needed. NSS will implement Google Analytics for the website. This is a free service that will provide valuable statistical information to the client. Only the general site can be accessed as registration is required for the other section of the site. Client will have to log in through Google to see this information. Client will need to provide information to fill in the tags on each page. The information must be consistent with the contents of the page. Tags can only be updated by developers or qualified production personnel.
