Web Design Lead For Internal Database ECommerce Public Sector (SES) Tutoring Posted: 08/14/2010
Web Design Project Description: I prefer to work with designers: in the United States and Canada Company info: We do primarily in-home tutoring, but some is done in other locations such as libraries. We started a little over 1 year ago, but are growing. Public Sector (SES) Tutoring Our business right now is focused on public sector (SES) tutoring, paid for by public schools. In SES tutoring, students would be created in a database by a manager, then after each tutoring session, data about the tutoring would be entered by a tutor. To communicate and track tutoring data, we want an interactive user database with passwords for 3 levels of people (workers, managers, owner), compatible with PCs or Macs including older operating systems, accessible by many users, as described here and having the features as described in these files (must ask for since this site doesn`t allow attachments): ? Functions and permissions ? Example starting data (most of the actual data will be entered by us, but this shows example data fields we need, and shows example data for your reference) E-commerce / Private Tutoring Private tutoring (which we want to launch) is where the E-Commerce would come into play. We want an ecommerce component where parents can pre-pay via credit card on the E-commerce site, and then we would want this to be seamlessly added as "available tutoring hours" for their child. New students must be assigned in the database to the appropriate manager automatically based on the county they live in. Each district manager must be able to set up a separate hourly rate to charge for tutoring in their county. Private students (mainly paid by E-Commerce) would have to be marked in some way as being private students since the funding sources and associated requirements on us are different. Private students would be handled the same way the other students are by the site, except that the allotted hours will be added seamlessly from E-commerce (or added by a manager or owner if needed). Tracking student hours and worker (tutor) pay due When tutoring hours are inputted, we want the database to track each of the students? tutoring session info as well as pay due to the worker who performed it. We pay our workers different rates based on how many students they are tutoring at a time. For example: $25/hr for one-on-one, $30/hr for a group of 2 students simultaneously, or $35/hr for a group of 3 or more. See ?example starting data? for examples. Example: A worker could enter their time worked as 1 hour and could select 3 students from a list of who they tutored simultaneously. In this case the database must both: a) know that the worker should be paid $35 for the 1 hour session with the 3 students, and b) automatically populate each of the 3 students` tutoring completed data with the day and number of hours done. Remember that from week to week, sometimes 1 member of a group is sick, etc, so the members of that group can change weekly. It is best to let the worker select who the students were each time they ent! er hours. Timeframe There is no tutoring going on yet, but there will be starting in late September. Time is of the essence. We need to have the internal website finished September 25. Our marketing website is already active and ready to drive traffic to an ecommerce site. The ecommerce integration would be second priority but I would like to know when you think you?d be able to have it integrated. Dashboard Function Providing a Dashboard Function is not part of the scope now, but plan to design the site in a way that will allow for a later dashboard function to total up data automatically and have it available for managers. The site`s function does not involve marketing.
