Web Design Project Description: I prefer to work with designers: Worldwide Number of pages (approx): 50 total, but basically 3 templates, plus landing page My Goals for this project are: Professionally designed look, that can we can update and maintain ourselves (for example, add update copy, add pages and links) My Industry: Computer software We have an existing web site, which is the primary way we reach new customers. The web site was last updated in 2006. The goal of this project is to create a fresh new design look. We need potential customers who visit our web site to perceive us as a successful company. We are a company that develops and sells software components, so basic HTML, PHP, scripting, etc are not beyond our ability to create. However, we don`t aspire to be graphic designers, so we seek help to add that professional touch. We recently contracted a graphic designer who created new logos and a web site design layout using photoshop. We need to build on this existing design work to build out the site. The first phase of this work will be to create usable HTML templates from the existing photoshop design, which we will use to build out the site. The contractor should create a one-column, two-column, and maybe three-column template. When the templates are ready, the client (we) will build out the site. After we build out the site and load it onto a staging area, the second phase will begin. In this phase, we will work with the contractor to put on finishing touches. This will include designing the landing page, which will not follow any template, but will be a special page. We have also been very pleased in the past when our designer added stock photographs, as they made the site look professionally designed. So, here we might be looking for adding stock photographs to key pages. However, we will be looking for the contractor to suggest ideas. We have some scripts that we designed in-house. These are scripts that allow customers to contact us or to download evaluation copies of our software. We don`t need contractor support for these scripts, other than the HTML templates. We also have an online store, which will remain apart from this project, although we might consider a follow-on project to update the online store.
